JustDamnSilly, the slightly embellished, but mostly authentic origin story!

Inspired by all those pre-Y2K nerdy renegade technophiles who built the first computer thingys/rocketpacks/search robots or whatever they were doing in their garages, JustDamnSilly launched in a dusty storage nook with intentionally bad lighting during the late 1990's, determined to discover the next amazing, breakthrough technology gizmo.

We soon realized that math is hard, and we had no idea how to invent anything remotely resembling a revolutionary computer contraption like those other guys. Plus, we could not keep the raccoons out of our garage and those little rascals were chewing up all our wires, and then running off with the circuit boards (we later found out Radio Shack was giving them cash refunds without a receipt, no wonder that stupid store went out of business!).

Anyhoo, we abandoned the hi-tech stuff, and summarily shifted efforts into the next logically related (or utterly arbitrary, if you want to nitpick)  venture, which of course was fantasy sports, launching our website JunkYardJake.com in late 1998. Over the next 25+ years, this is where we met most of our fun and mostly imaginary friends including Mertle P. Muffin, Coach Tweepz and Flippy The Crime Frog.

So why did it take over 25 years to finally open a store? Great question (and thanks for asking!)  Well, we originally planned to have our store coincide with the introduction of our exquisitely designed NY Jets Super Bowl 20XX champion merchandise, but obviously that’s not going to work anytime soon, so now is as good a time as any.  So there you have it, and thanks so much for stopping by!
